Data deletion

Delete Kipp data from inside the app.

Complete deletion requires two in-app actions: Clear Local Kipp Data removes the on-device library; Delete Account Data removes cloud data and the anonymous identity and requests deletion of linked Mixpanel analytics data. Screenshots in Photos and purchase records controlled by Apple are not deleted.

In-app steps

  1. Open Kipp and go to Settings.

  2. Choose Clear Local Kipp Data, read the summary and confirm.

  3. Choose Delete Account Data, read that the Mixpanel request may take up to 30 days and confirm.

  4. Kipp closes pending requests, removes local and cloud data, stops analytics tracking and creates the Mixpanel GDPR deletion task.

Removed

What Kipp deletes

  • Local app records, the local search index and local thumbnails
  • Pending Kipp analysis requests
  • Cloud user, entitlement, usage and analysis-request metadata
  • The anonymous app identity
  • Mixpanel event and profile data linked to the anonymous identity; completion of the deletion task may take up to 30 days

Retained

What this does not delete

  • Original screenshots in Apple Photos; they remain until you delete them in Photos
  • Apple purchase and subscription records
  • Analysis requests processed by the external AI provider; their handling remains subject to the provider's own retention policy

Apple controls external financial records under its own legal retention policies. Analysis requests processed by the external AI provider remain subject to that provider's own retention policy. These records are not Kipp cloud metadata. Mixpanel states that a GDPR deletion task may take up to 30 days and may retain deletion-task records for legal compliance or short-term service continuity.
